While the host did not request a custom illustration in the beginning, as I began coming up with designs, they thought that an illustration of themselves would add more of a unique personality to the cover. This illustration was done digitally on Procreate.
An alternate design that I came up with during the design process is shown below. Part of the theme of the podcast was writing, reading books and reviewing them along with other things such as mom life, dealing with adhd and more. I kept the motif of plants as a nod to her tropical background but chose a cooler color palette to show more of the writing part of the podcast theme versus the personality of the host.
Some of the earliest ideas and explorations can be seen below. The color palette was one of the earliest things I decided on.
